Our Story

At Preziosa Farms, our journey is built on a strong commitment to a vision of a better future for our community.

Our History

Preziosa Farms had its unique beginnings in 1998 as an educational exchange project between Dr. Preciosa S. Soliven and Kasetsart University in Thailand. With the acquisition of the 11.5-hectare site, the groundwork began for a self-sufficient farm modeled after the royal agriculture projects of His Royal Highness King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Dr. Soliven, Founder of Operation Brotherhood Montessori Center (OBMC) and married to renowned journalist Max Soliven, believed that by immersing in a farm environment, the physical and personal growth of students is enhanced to strengthen the development of independence needed for adult life—a tenet of the Montessori method.

In the years following, the Preziosa Farms evolved into a sanctuary showcasing Asian ornamental plants, a fern gully, a dragon fruit lane, thousands of fruit and miracle trees grafted with Bangkok durian, lanzones, guapple, and longan scion. A seasonal camping area for scouting, survival training, and team-building activities is situated alongside an outdoor amphitheater.

In 2008, daughter Sara Soliven de Guzman and a team that included urban planner Paulo Alcazaren collaborated to further transform Preziosa Farms by adding themed cottages, jacuzzi pools, and a fully-trained service staff.

Today, the 16-hectare Preziosa Farms continues to update its grounds to provide a haven that whispers peace to the heart and mind of each student, seeker, or traveler, while rejuvenating the body and spirit and offering delightful farm-to-table experiences.
